Workers’ remittances and tourism earnings up in February 2024

According to the latest data from the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL), Sri Lanka recorded an over 16 percent increase in workers’ remittances and tourism earnings, which increased by nearly 114 percent in February 2024 compared to the previous year.

Workers’ remittances reached USD 476.2 million in February 2024, a 16.88% increase from February 2023.

Meanwhile, the earnings from tourism in February 2024 were recorded as USD 345.7 million. This is an increase of 113.92% compared with the same month last year.
