Measures taken to limit egg imports

Sri Lanka Association of Animal Production says chicken and eggs can be supplied without shortage during the upcoming festive season.

Association President Ajith Gunasekara expressed that it is also possible to sell frozen chicken at Rs. 1,000.

Meanwhile, according to the State Trading Corporation, steps have been taken to limit the import of eggs from India.

Its chairman, Asiri Walisundara, said that nearly 4 million imported eggs would be released to the market during the upcoming festive season.
