Mano Ganesan calls for Indian Social and Educational Aid

“Our political aspirations are confined to Sri Lanka, but we seek social and educational assistance from India.”
Sri Lankan Parliamentarian and Tamil Progressive Alliance leader Mano Ganesan made this appeal to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his recent visit to Colombo,
“We will not impose our political demands upon you. We will submit our political proposals when the government initiates the new constitutional process,” TPA leader Mano Ganesan informed Prime Minister Modi.
Mano Ganesan led the delegation of the Tamil Progressive Alliance and the Ceylon Workers Congress at the meeting with the Indian Prime Minister.
“During the conversation, we requested Indian logistical support to establish an exclusive Teacher Training College that could produce teachers in science, mathematics, English, Information Technology, and a Nurses Training Institute for our girls.
“Additionally, we sought to establish a campus affiliated with a prestigious Indian university.
“On the national economic front, we firmly asserted that Sri Lanka’s progress is inextricably linked to the world’s fifth-largest Indian economy.
“We welcomed the economic connections represented by the Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed between Sri Lanka and India.”
