IIT Madras to work with Caterpillar in cutting-edge research

The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, will collaborate with U.S.-based manufacturing firm Caterpillar Inc. to undertake joint research on cutting-edge technologies.

The research areas include Advanced Manufacturing, AI and Data Science, Mechanical Engineering, Autonomous Mining Equipment, Gas Turbines and Engines, and Batteries and Fuel Cells, according to a press release.

An MoU was signed recently by Bhuvan Anadakrishnan, Vice President – Engineering, and Country Manager, Caterpillar Inc.; V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras; Manu Santhanam, Dean (ICSR), IIT Madras; and Shaikh Faruque Ali, Associate Professor, Department of Applied Mechanics, IIT Madras.
