President Meets UN High Commissioner for Human Rights

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who is in the US to attend the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, met with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk at the Human Rights Council Auditorium of the United Nations Secretariat.

High Commissioner Volker Turk extended a warm welcome to President Dissanayake and engaged in bilateral discussions.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath, along with Sri Lanka’s Permanent Representative to the UN and former Chief Justice, President’s Counsel Jayantha Jayasuriya, were also present at the event.
