Shares rebound after 3 sessions of losses
Sri Lankan shares closed higher on Tuesday, with gains led by consumer discretionary and financial stocks.
The CSE All-Share index rose 0.22% to 23,734.50, ending a three-day losing run. On Monday, the index fell 0.55%.
Conglomerate Softlogic Holdings Plc and Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) Plc were the biggest boosts to the CSE All-Share index, surging 25% each.
Trading volume rose to 276.9 million shares from 153.6 million in the previous session.
Equity market turnover rose to 8.24 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($26.6 million), up from 5.16 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net sellers of shares worth 4.17 billion rupees in the equity market, while domestic investors were net buyers of shares worth 5.38 billion rupees, data showed.
