The Sri Lanka-India Parliamentary Friendship Association (SLIPFA), in collaboration with the High Commission of India in Colombo and Factum as the knowledge partner, hosted a roundtable discussion at the Parliament of Sri Lanka.
The Roundtable was held under the theme “Future Ready Indo-Lanka Partnership: A Dialogue For A Shared Tomorrow”.
It was presided over by SLIPFA President, Hon. (Dr.) Nalinda Jayatissa, Minister of Health and Mass Media, along with Acting High Commissioner of India Dr. Satyanjal Pandey. SLIPFA Secretary Hon. (Dr.) Kavinda Jayawardhana and other office bearers, including Vice Presidents Hon. G.G. Ponnambalam and Hon. Ravi Karunanayake, Asst. Secretaries Hon. Sivagnanam Shritharan and Hon. This first-of-its-kind initiative included discussions over two sessions.
The first session focused on Energy Cooperation and the second on Maritime Cooperation. Each session included expert presentations from both Indian and Sri Lankan perspectives.
With nearly 50 members of Parliament from SLIPFA joining the conversation, the roundtable aimed to provide a platform for cross-party engagement and to identify innovative pathways for mutually beneficial collaboration across critical sectors of the India-Sri Lanka partnership.
