IT, materials stocks decline

Sri Lankan shares closed lower on Monday, dragged down by ​losses in information technology and materials stocks.

The CSE All Share index settled 0.2% down at 23,754.26, snapping three straight sessions of gains.

Acme Printing ‌and ‌Packaging ⁠and Renuka ​Holdings were ‌the top losers on the benchmark, falling 14.8% and 9.1%, respectively.

Trading volume on the CSE All Share index rose ⁠to 351.1 million shares from 311.1 ‌million shares in ‍the ‍previous session, exchange data showed.

Equity market turnover fell to 6.31 billion rupees ($20.39 million) from 9.09 billion ​rupees in the previous session.

Foreign investors were net ⁠sellers, offloading stocks worth 1.65 billion rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 6.07 billion rupees.
