Utility, industrial stocks gain strength

Sri Lankan ​shares closed higher on Friday, led by utility and industrials stocks.

The CSE All-Share index settled 0.24% higher at 23,709.84 points.

Dilmah Ceylon Tea Company and Kerner Haus Global Solutions were the top percentage gainers on the index, each up 25% on the day.

Trading volume on the index ⁠slightly fell to 191,340,736 shares ‌from ‌224,202,960 shares in ​the ‌previous session.

Equity ‌market turnover rose to 8.5 billion rupees ($27.49 million) from 4.8 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.

Foreign ⁠investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 1.06 billion rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 8.44 billion rupees, the data showed.
