IT losses drag Colombo shares down

Sri Lankan shares closed lower on Tuesday, dragged down by losses across sectors, led by IT stocks.

The CSE All Share index settled down 0.39% at 23,690.62.

Dilmah Ceylon Tea and Office Equipment were ‌the top ‌percentage ​losers ‌on ⁠the ​CSE All ⁠Share index, falling 6.4% and 6%, respectively.

Trading volume on the CSE All Share index rose to 152.5 million ⁠shares from 97.4 million ‌in ‌the previous session.

* ​The ‌equity market’s turnover rose ‌to 3.69 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($11.93 million) from 2.56 billion rupees in the previous session, ‌according to exchange data.

Foreign investors were ⁠net ⁠sellers, offloading stocks worth 911.7 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 3.51 billion rupees, the data showed.
