IT losses drag Colombo shares down
Sri Lankan shares closed lower on Tuesday, dragged down by losses across sectors, led by IT stocks.
The CSE All Share index settled down 0.39% at 23,690.62.
Dilmah Ceylon Tea and Office Equipment were the top percentage losers on the CSE All Share index, falling 6.4% and 6%, respectively.
Trading volume on the CSE All Share index rose to 152.5 million shares from 97.4 million in the previous session.
* The equity market’s turnover rose to 3.69 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($11.93 million) from 2.56 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 911.7 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 3.51 billion rupees, the data showed.
