CSE: Communication services stocks fall

Sri ‌Lankan shares closed lower on Tuesday, weighed down by ​losses in communication services stocks.

The CSE All-Share index closed 0.45% lower at 21,032.46.

National Development Bank PLC and Paragon ‌Ceylon PLC were ‌the biggest ​losers ‌on ⁠the ​CSE All-Share index, ⁠falling 14.2% and 10.4%, respectively.

Trading volume fell to 48.7 million shares from 82 million in ⁠the previous session.

The equity market’s turnover fell to 1.88 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($6 million), compared with 3.03 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.

Foreign investors were net sellers, ⁠offloading ⁠stocks worth 339.8 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 1.83 billion rupees, data showed.
