CSE: Communication services stocks fall
Sri Lankan shares closed lower on Tuesday, weighed down by losses in communication services stocks.
The CSE All-Share index closed 0.45% lower at 21,032.46.
National Development Bank PLC and Paragon Ceylon PLC were the biggest losers on the CSE All-Share index, falling 14.2% and 10.4%, respectively.
Trading volume fell to 48.7 million shares from 82 million in the previous session.
The equity market’s turnover fell to 1.88 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($6 million), compared with 3.03 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 339.8 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 1.83 billion rupees, data showed.
