Sri Lanka’s benchmark stock index closed higher on Wednesday, led by gains in communication services and utilities stocks.
The CSE All Share index settled up 0.11% at 22,199.23.
Singhe Hospitals PLC and Bairaha Farms PLC were the top percentage gainers on the CSE All Share index, rising 8.5% and 7.78%, respectively.
Trading volume on the CSE All Share index fell to 61.9 million shares from 94.3 million in the previous session.
The equity market’s turnover fell to 1.86 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($5.7 million) from 4.93 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net buyers, purchasing stocks worth 80.2 million rupees, while domestic investors were net sellers, offloading shares worth 1.79 billion rupees, the data showed
