Singhe Hospitals and Bairaha Farms ‌in market spotlight

Sri ​Lanka’s stock market is ‌closed ‌on May ​28, ‌Thursday, ⁠for ​a local ⁠holiday.

Trading ⁠will ‌resume ‌on Friday, May 29.

Sri Lanka’s benchmark stock index closed higher on Wednesday, led by gains in communication ​services ​and utilities ​stocks.

The CSE All Share index settled up 0.11% at 22,199.23.

Singhe Hospitals PLC and Bairaha Farms ‌PLC were the ‌top percentage ​gainers ‌on ⁠the ​CSE All ⁠Share index, rising 8.5% and 7.78%, respectively.

Trading volume on the CSE All Share index fell to 61.9 ⁠million shares from 94.3 ‌million ‌in the previous ​session.

The ‌equity market’s turnover fell ‌to 1.86 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($5.7 million) from 4.93 billion rupees in the ‌previous session, according to exchange data.

Foreign investors ⁠were ⁠net buyers, purchasing stocks worth 80.2 million rupees, while domestic investors were net sellers, offloading shares worth 1.79 billion rupees, the data showed
