Sri Lankan shares post weekly loss

Sri ‌Lankan shares closed lower as losses in communication services ​stocks outweighed gains in IT shares, leaving the benchmark down 0.97% for the week.

The CSE All Share index settled down 0.19% ‌at 22,178.73, extending ‌losses to ​a fourth straight session.

Tess ⁠Agro PLC and Waskaduwa Beach Resort PLC were the top percentage losers on the CSE All Share index, falling 6.7% and 5.6%, ⁠respectively.

Trading volume on ‌the ‌CSE All Share index ​fell to ‌30.6 million shares from 47.4 ‌million in the previous session.

The equity market’s turnover rose to 1.54 billion Sri Lankan ‌rupees ($4.60 million) from 1.52 billion rupees in the previous ⁠session, ⁠according to exchange data.

Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 160.8 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 1.54 billion rupees, the data showed.
