Jana Nayagan release in theatres on July 23

After months of uncertainty, the makers of actor-turned-politician and Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Vijay’s swansong film Jana Nayagan recently announced that the film will finally release in theatres on July 23.

The news, which came a week after the film got its CBFC certification, has expectedly forced a slew of smaller Tamil films to reconsider or reschedule their releases.

cAtor-composer GV Prakash Kumar’s upcoming film Immortal was originally slated to release on July 23.

A few hours after the announcement of Jana Nayagan’s new release date, Prakash, an avid fan of Thalapathy Vijay, announced that the release of Immortal has been moved to Sept. 4.

“If Thalapathy comes, we have to make way, isn’t it?” read Prakash’s tweet.
