Sri Lanka stocks close down

Sri Lanka’s Colombo Stock Exchange indices closed down on Thursday, CSE data showed, with the benchmark All Share Price Index moving down 0.38 percent.

The ASPI was down 80.43 points at 21,148.71, while the more liquid S&P SL20 was down 0.33 percent, or 19.42 points, at 5,941.98.

Positive contributors to the ASPI were Carson Cumberbatch (up 3.00 percent at 730.00 rupees), Sampath Bank (up 0.37 percent at 136.50 rupees), Sarvodaya Development Finance (up 8.85 percent at 40.60 rupees), and Distilleries Company of Sri Lanka (up 2.55 percent at 56.40 rupees).

Aitken Spence (down 4.14 percent at 139.00 rupees), Commercial Bank of Ceylon (down 0.49 percent at 201.50 rupees), and ACL Cables (down 2.08 percent at 94.00 rupees) were top negative contributors.

Market turnover was 1.094 billion rupees. Capital goods led turnover with 389 million rupees.
