Technology stocks drag share index lower
Sri Lankan shares closed lower on Tuesday, dragged down by technology stocks.
The CSE All-Share index settled 0.95% lower at 21,318.31 points.
Kelani Tyres Plc and Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Plc were the top percentage losers on the index, down 7.42% and 6.39%, respectively, on the day.
Trading volume on the index slightly rose to 97.5 million shares from 50.6 million shares in the previous session.
The equity market’s turnover rose to 2.32 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($7.08 million) from 1.01 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 646.6 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 2.29 billion rupees, the data showed.
