Technology stocks drag share index lower

Sri ‌Lankan shares closed lower on Tuesday, dragged down by ​technology stocks.

The CSE All-Share index settled 0.95% lower at 21,318.31 points.

Kelani Tyres Plc and Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Plc were ‌the top ‌percentage losers ​on ‌the index, ⁠down ​7.42% and ⁠6.39%, respectively, on the day.

Trading volume on the index slightly rose to 97.5 million shares from ⁠50.6 million shares in ‌the ‌previous session.

The ​equity ‌market’s turnover rose to ‌2.32 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($7.08 million) from 1.01 billion rupees in the previous session, ‌according to exchange data.

Foreign investors were ⁠net ⁠sellers, offloading stocks worth 646.6 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 2.29 billion rupees, the data showed.
