Broad gains boost Sri Lankan shares

Sri ‌Lankan shares closed higher, helped by broad-based gains ​led by utilities and real estate stocks.

The CSE All Share index settled up 0.36% at 21,054.01.

Asia Siyaka Commodities and Hikkaduwa Beach Resort were the top percentage gainers on the CSE All Share index, rising 7.3% and 6.7%, respectively.

Trading volume on the CSE All Share index ⁠rose to 58.4 million shares ‌from ‌48.7 million in ​the ‌previous session.

The equity ‌market’s turnover rose to 1.37 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($4.16 million) from 750.3 million rupees ‌in the previous session, according to exchange data.

Foreign ⁠investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 82.2 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 1.35 billion rupees, the data showed.
