Presidency College to double its student intake

Presidency College has doubled its intake for the academic year 2025-26.

The college’s sanctioned intake used to be 1,140 students. But, this academic year the college will be admitting another 800 students in the second shift besides 400 more students in the first shift.

Disciplines including physics, chemistry, botany, zoology, mathematics, commerce and psychology will be taught in both the shifts, said Principal R. Raman.

The college plans to engage guest lecturers to teach these subjects.

This time, they are also offering a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Computer Science with a total of 50 students and the programme will be conducted during the first shift.
