Shares extend record rally to 13th straight session
Sri Lankan shares closed higher, extending their record rally to a thirteenth consecutive session.
The CSE All-Share index rose nearly 0.5% to 21,951.79.
Distilleries Companies of Sri Lanka and Melstacorp were the biggest boosts to the CSE All-Share index.
Trading volume fell to 192.1 million shares from 225.2 million in the previous session.
The equity market’s turnover rose to 6.52 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($21.6 million), compared with 6.46 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net buyers of shares worth 191.9 million rupees in the equity market, while domestic investors were net sellers of shares worth 6.37 billion rupees, data showed.
