Sri Lanka is in the early recovery phase following Cyclone Ditwah, which caused catastrophic flooding and landslides in late November 2025.

Efforts have shifted from rescue to cleanup, infrastructure repair, aid distribution, and long-term reconstruction, amid challenges such as ongoing rainfall and economic strain.

The government, military, volunteers, and international partners are leading coordinated responses.

The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) coordinates nationwide, issuing landslide risk warnings and monitoring receding floodwaters.
