Pakistan’s army chief visits Saudi Arabia

Pakistan’s army chief arrived in the Saudi capital Riyadh on Monday, officials said.
General Qamer Javed Bajwa’s visit was apparently aimed at easing a rift caused by the Pakistani foreign minister’s demand for a firm Saudi response to what he called Indian atrocities in Kashmir, AFP reported.

Bajwa held talks in Riyadh with Major General Fayyad Al-Ruwaili, the kingdom’s chief of general staff, the Saudi Defence Ministry reported.

“During their meeting, they discussed prospects of military cooperation and ways to support it as well as other areas of common interest,” the ministry was quoted as saying in the news agency report.
Bajwa also met with Saudi Vice Minister of Defence Khalid bin Salman and the two discussed “bilateral relations, military cooperation, and our common vision for preserving regional security,” Bin Salman said on Twitter, according to Reuters.
