C.W. Mackie and Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) were the top percentage gainers on the index, surging 27% and 25%, respectively, on the day.
Trading volume on the index jumped to 326.3 million shares from 133.3 million in the previous session.
Equity market turnover rose to 9.27 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($29.96 million) from 4.94 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading shares worth 2.25 billion rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 8.73 billion rupees, according to the data.
