Shares fall for second day

Shares closed lower on Tuesday, dragged by losses across ​sectors.

The CSE All Share index settled down 0.39% at 22,177.65, falling for the second consecutive day.

Convenience Foods (Lanka) PLC ‌and Lanka ‌Ashok Leyland PLC ​were ‌the ⁠top ​percentage losers ⁠on the CSE All Share index, falling 6.8% and 5.6%, respectively.

Trading volume on the CSE All Share index ⁠rose to 82 million ‌shares from ‌71 million in ​the ‌previous session.

The equity ‌market’s turnover rose to 2.02 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($6.08 million) from 1.67 billion rupees ‌in the previous session, according to exchange data.

Foreign ⁠investors ⁠were net buyers, purchasing stocks worth 123.8 million rupees, while domestic investors were net sellers, offloading shares worth 1.97 billion rupees, the data showed.
