Cargo Boat Development, Millennium Housing Developers gain
Sri Lankan shares closed higher, helped by broad-based gains across major sectors.
The CSE All-Share index settled 0.89% higher at 22,407.04 points.
Financials and industrials segments were the biggest index point gainers, while communication services was the biggest percentage gainer.
Cargo Boat Development Company and Millennium Housing Developers were the top percentage gainers on the index, advancing 9.9% and 9.1%, respectively, on the day.
Trading volume on the index rose to 67.8 million shares from 48.4 million shares in the previous session.
The equity market’s turnover rose to 2.73 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($3.57 million) from 1.20 billion rupees in the previous session, according to exchange data.
Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 104.9 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 2.68 billion rupees, the data showed.
