Top gainers: Industrial Asphalts and Colombo Dockyard

Sri Lankan shares closed higher, snapping a four-session losing streak, ​led by utilities and energy stocks.

The CSE All Share index settled up 0.13% at 21,927.

India will provide an assistance package worth $450 million to Sri ‌Lanka for ‌cyclone relief ‌and ⁠repair, ​India’s ‌Foreign Minister said on Tuesday.

Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) and Colombo Dockyard were the top percentage gainers on the CSE All Share index, rising 25% and 24.8%, respectively.

Trading volume on the CSE ‌All Share index ‍jumped to ‍102.3 million shares from 81.9 ‍million in the previous session. *

The equity market’s turnover fell to 2.56 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($8.3 ​million) from 2.98 billion rupees in the previous session, ⁠according to exchange data.

Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 217.8 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 2.41 billion rupees, the data showed.
