Communication losses offset energy gains
Sri Lankan shares closed flat, as losses in communications services stocks were offset by gains in the energy sector.
The CSE All Share index settled flat at 22,899.53, compared with 22,920.32 in the previous session.
Commercial Development Company PLC and Equity Two PLC were the largest percentage losers on the CSE All Share index, falling 5.79% and 5.21%, respectively.
Trading volume on the CSE All Share index rose to 180.9 million shares from 142.4 million in the previous session, according to exchange data.
The equity market’s turnover fell to 2.62 billion Sri Lankan rupees ($8.1 million) from 2.82 billion rupees in the previous session.
Foreign investors were net sellers, offloading stocks worth 148.4 million rupees, while domestic investors were net buyers, purchasing shares worth 2.58 billion rupees, the data showed.
